This pet alligator was found at about 5:45 p.m. Thursday, June 1, underneath a yellow Pontiac Trans Am in the 1200 block of Riverview Road in Riverton. Several motorists slowed for the animal as it crossed the roadway. Officials said the gator's owner arrived at the scene soon afterward and took custody of his 2-foot-long pet. The owner said he had recently bought a new holding tank that clearly wasn't restrictive enough to contain the young reptile. He said he would make the tank more secure. Photo by Ben Kister
