Up 2-0, Lady Wolverines let Evanston v-ball match slip

Oct 6, 2013 - By Craig Blumenshine, Staff Writer

The Riverton Lady Wolverines volleyball team started quickly Saturday on the road, winning the first two sets, but fell to Evanston 3-2 (23-25, 16-25, 25-22, 25-20, 15-13) in Class 4-A West volleyball action.

Kiley Ridgway lead Riverton with 18 kills, Hailey Snell had three service aces, Sydney Lynott had 14 digs, and Jensyn Pettit had five blocks for the Wolverines.

"We came out not knowing what Evanston had. We came out strong and aggressive but, after the second game, we relaxed and never recovered.

"If we work for three straight games, this is a team we are capable of beating," RHS head coach Adrian McNamee said.

With the loss, Riverton now sits at 4-3 in Class 4-A West play and will host Green River Friday and Evanston Saturday at Wolverine Gym.
