Jul 11, 2013 - From staff reportsFour members of the classified staff at Central Wyoming College earned certificates or degrees this year and were recognized by the CWC Board of Trustees in June.
"It's wonderful to work at CWC where continuing education is a possibility, and strongly encouraged," classified staff association president Amanda Peterson said during the June 19 board meeting. "It's promoted to continue your education here."
Board member Colton Crane commended the college for supporting the goals of its staff.
"It's great the institution encourages that," he said. "Sometimes it's difficult to encourage your help to be better-educated and move on, but I think (it's) in the best interests of everyone."
This year, course specialist Pamela Cowling earned her certificate in computer technology from CWC, Wyoming PBS traffic manager Suze Kanack earned her Associate of Arts degree from CWC, administrative assistant Retha Reinke earned her office specialist credential from CWC and administrative assistant Kenna Sweglar earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in organizational management online through Ashford University.
