Fast and Furriest fundraiser returns

Jun 17, 2013 - By Andrea Novotny, Staff Writer

The second annual Fast and Furriest 5k/1k walk and run will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Robert A. Peck Arts Center parking lot at Central Wyoming College, 2660 Peck Ave., Riverton.

The walk raises money for the Critical Care Companion Animal Fund, which provides assistance to families who are financially unable to care for their pet during emergency or critical situations.

Educational booths, races and prizes will be offered at the event. Other activities, including dog classes, a petting zoo, and a "wiener dive," in which dogs dive for hotdogs, also will be offered. A Breakfast and snacks will be provided at 7:30 a.m. and a barbecue will be offered at noon.

Registration is $30 a person on race day, $25 for advance registration. Participants will receive a T-shirt with registration.

Registration forms are available at The Stock Doc, Teton Athletic Club, Iron Works Gym, Renew Fitness, Gannet Peak Sports or fastnfurry.org.

The Critical Care Companion Animal Fund, created and co-sponsored by the PAWS for Life Animal Adoption League and The Stock Doc, raised nearly $6,000 in 2012.
