Joanne L. Hearth

Joanne L. "Joby" Hearth, 80, of Lander, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Westward Heights Care Center in Lander.

Cremation has taken place, and there will be no services.

Joanne L. Brainard was born July 3, 1931, in Sacramento, Calif., the daughter of Carl Winn Brainard and Helen V. (Chap-man) Brainard. She attended Grant High School in North Sac-ramento, Calif.

Mrs. Hearth was a homemaker, having married Donald R. Hearth on Nov. 27, 1949, in Sacramento, Calif.

She was of the Episcopal faith.

Mrs. Hearth was a member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority and the International Society of Poets.

Her family said she enjoyed cooking, sewing, drawing, reading and writing poetry.

Mrs. Hearth worked for the telephone company for nearly two decades, starting as an operator and advancing to the engineering department as a draftsperson.

The family lived in various locations in California and Nevada when Mr. Hearth was transferred with the telephone company.

The couple moved to Lander in 1992, back to Winnemucca, Nev., in 2004 and returned to Lander in 2008.

Mrs. Hearth is survived by her husband, Donald R. Hearth of Lander; a daughter, Donae Bezanson, and son-in-law Richard Bezanson, both of Lander; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Helen Brainard, and a sister, Aletha Sewell.

Memorials may be made to the Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority of Amedisys Hospice, in care of the Davis Funeral Home, 2203 W. Main St., Riverton, WY 82501.
