Sheldon promoted to lieutenant colonel

Maj. Jeromie K. Sheldon was promoted to lieutenant colonel March 5 at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. Sheldon is a special actions officer for the Commander's Action Group, Headquarters Air Mobility Command. He works daily in direct support of the Commander of Air Mobility Command and assists as a policy advisor to the Commander on operational issues for 134,000 total force airmen and 1,284 aircraft. As an AMC CAG member, he leads and assists with a wide range of projects, speech material and conferences in support of the Commander.

Before assuming his current position, Maj. Sheldon was strategic advisor to the AMC Director of Operations, Scott AFB. As the strategic advisor he was responsible for advising the AMC Director of Operations on all strategic, operational and technical issues, including the recommendation of changes to policy and doctrine.

Maj. Sheldon graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1997. As a Phoenix Horizon graduate and cross flow aviator, he has served in a variety of positions at the squadron and major command levels. The major also served as the Director of Operations 340 Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron, 379th Air Expeditionary Wing, Al Udeid Qatar. He is a senior pilot, having logged more than 3,900 hours in airlift, tanker and trainer aircraft.

Maj. Sheldon is married to Anne Marie and they have four children Micah, Annika, Autumn and Josiah. His parents are Joe and Rose Stansbury, of Riverton, brother Brent and wife Rochelle, of Riverton, and sister Amy Sheldon, of Pinedale.
