May 10, 2013 - From staff reportsRyan Apodaca, 32, of Riverton, was arrested for fleeing or attempting to elude and reckless driving at about 10:15 a.m. Monday when he reportedly failed to yield to a Fremont County Sheriff's deputy in the 1000 block of North Federal Boulevard.
According to reports, Apodaca failed to stop his vehicle as directed and accelerated up to 50 mph before reaching the intersection of Webbwood Road. Officials said Apodaca almost caused a traffic collision at the intersection before rapidly accelerating down Webbwood Road and stopping near the street's intersection with North Broadway Avenue. He was arrested there and taken into custody.
The deputy reportedly was trying to stop and contact Apodaca to check on the subject's welfare after he was the subject of an attempt-to-locate call that had been reported Sunday.
