Mar 17, 2013 - StaffNicolette Murufas died Jan. 20, 2013, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. She was 62 years old.
She was born in California on Feb. 17, 1950, the only daughter of Nick and Helen (Valenzuela) Murufas.
She is survived by her mother, Helen, her brother, Roddy, his wife Melinda, and Rod's three stepdaughters and six step-grandchildren, all of whom she dearly loved.
She never married and had no children.
Before moving to Wyoming in 1984, she lived in Los Gatos, Calif., not far from the ocean.
She learned to surf and found she loved it.
"Those who knew her found her to be kind, caring, generous and wise," reads a family statement. "And she had a great sense of humor"
A remembrance of her, and celebration of her life, will be a family gathering in her home state of California at a future date.
