Nora Lucille (Large) (Kissel) Peterson

Fort Washakie native Nora Lucille (Large) (Kissel) Peterson, 66, died Friday, March 2, 2012, in Alaska.

A celebration of life will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2520 Wesleyan Drive in Anchorage.

A member of the Shoshone Tribe, Nora Lucille Large was born April 17, 1945, to Ruben A. and Alvena K. Large on the Wind River Indian Reservation at Fort Washakie. She was one of 10 children.

In 1986, she moved with her son, Joseph Kissel, to Alaska. She was soon followed by daughters Sara Kissel and Robin Isenhart. In 1987, she met and married Harry G. Peterson.

Mrs. Peterson worked for many years in housekeeping at Nordstrom, with the Anchorage school district and with NANA, before retiring.

Mrs. Peterson is survived by her husband, Harry G. Peterson; her children, Joseph B. Kissel, Sara Kissel and Robin Isenhart; grandchildren Alicia Ahdar, Azalia Isenhart, Jessica Yawn, Tara Isenhart, Maura Kissel and three great-grandchildren; siblings, Raymond Compton, Edward Large, Dale Large, Cheryle Large and Debbie Reilly; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
