Johnathan Boyd Jr. died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at the Lander Regional Hospital after a sudden illness. He was 44 years old.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Blue Sky Hall in Ethete. Evening services and a wake will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22. Interment will be in the Mission Cemetery in Ethete.

Johnathan Boyd Jr. was born April 1, 1968, in San Jose, Calif., the son of Johnathan E. Bovd Sr. and Fern R. Felter.

He was employed at the Wind River Casino as a Ceenoko at the time of his death and worked in Salt Lake City before that time. He attended school at Mill Creek and Wind River High School.

His family said he enjoyed watching movies, going to the casino and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his parents; companion LaRae Shakespeare and her family; sisters Johanne Boyd, Valerie Boyd and Evelyn Jimenez; brothers George Goggles and Angelo Boyd; uncles Wayne, Ernest, Sunni Jim, Sherwin Felter, Mike, Dave, Vernon, Llewellyn and Lowell Boyd Sr.; aunts Blossom Felter, Sharon Gambler, Mary Martinez, Rubena Hernandez and Debbie Boyd; nephews Alvin Felter, Dustin and Latrell Etter, Cole Boyd and Ismael Escamillia; nieces Laura and Rae Mara Anderson; grandchildren Pierce and Khanai Goggles and Keira Lopez.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Evelyn and Alvin Felter and Loetta and Louis Boyd; sister Carol Bovd; and niece Melinda Escamilla.

Services are provided by Wind Dancer Funeral Home.
