Jerome T. 'J.T.' SunRhodes Jr.

Jerome T. "J.T." SunRhodes Jr., of rural Riverton, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. He was 35 years old.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Arapaho Catholic Cemetery. A wake will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at his home, 250 Mazet Road. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, with a second wake to follow at 1540 Elmwood Drive at Beaver Creek.

Jerome Thomas SunRhodes Jr. was born July 18, 1977, in Riverton, the son of Jerome Thomas SunRhodes Sr. and Theresa Ann (Melbourne) SunRhodes.

Mr. SunRhodes was a lifelong resident of the Wind River Indian Reservation, attending St. Stephen's School, Arapahoe School and Flandreau Indian School.

He had been employed with the Bureau of Indian Affairs in road construction, Kusel's Furniture, and as a laborer in building construction.

His family said he enjoyed spending time and doing activities with his children and family, playing basketball, listening to music, watching movies, playing video games, going to the casino, fishing and hunting with his dad.

He is survived by his parents, Jerome SunRhodes Sr. and Theresa A. SunRhodes; fiancee Teresa Redfield; sons Kendell SunRhodes, Jerome SunRhodes III and Kenyan SunRhodes; daughters Kenya SunRhodes, Jayna SunRhodes, Shayla SunRhodes and Jayden SunRhodes; brothers Patrick SunRhodes Sr. and family, Jared SunRhodes and family, Justin SunRhodes and family, Travis Blackburn Sr. and family, Darwin Gambler Jr. and family, Billy Addison and families, Tommy StandingElk and family, Weldon Blackburn and family and Vinnie Brown and family; sisters Katherine SunRhodes and family, Jessica SunRhodes and family, Teresa SunRhodes, Dione SunRhodes and family, Dionne Addison and family, Holly Addison and family, Patti Addison and family, Heather Brown and family and Charlene Brown and family; uncles Ernest SunRhodes Jr. and family, Dominic SunRhodes, Burnett and Ruby Whiteplume and family, Marty Underwood and family, Pat Underwood and family, Jerome Underwood and family and John Underwood and family; aunts Katherine Eagle Staff and family, Olivia Burton and family, Colleen Addison and family, Jerry and Liz Smith and family, Marie Gambler and family, Annette SunRhodes and family, Phoebe Owens, Susan and Bill Crazy Thunder and family, Sandra Brown and family, Jackie Wapato and family and Underwood family.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ernest and Ruth SunRhodes; maternal grandparents Thomas Melbourne and Allison Lonefight; godfather Patrick Blackburn Sr.; uncles Franklin SunRhodes, Gerald Lonefight, Floyd Addison Sr. and Sam Eagle Staff; aunt Patricia Arthur; brothers Ernest SunRhodes III, Thomas Blackburn Jr., Ryan J. Blackburn and Anthony Eagle Staff; and nephews Gerald Eagle Staff and Richard Lone Dog III.
