Jan 20, 2013 - StaffMarilu O'Malley, a longtime Riverton resident, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Wyoming Med-ical Center in Casper.
She was 76 years old.
Memorial services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the Riverton Church of the Nazarene, with The Rev. Eric DePew officiating.
Cremation has taken place.
Marilu Farrens was born Sept. 13, 1936, in Lander.
She was the the daughter of Elmer Farrens and Alma Opal (Cantrell) Farrens.
She grew up in the area and was a graduate of Northwest Nazarene College.
She married Harold O'Malley who preceded her in death in 1991.
Mrs. O'Malley had a master's degree and was a lifelong teacher in Fremont County.
Her family said she was a devout Christian and loved her church family.
She programmed computer games for children, was a published author and poet, and was a lyricist/songwriter with works recorded.
She is survived by her sons, Dan Lookingbill and Tim Lookingbill; daughter Cynthia Van Vleet; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; five siblings; and one daughter, Carey Lynn Craven.
Memorial donations may be given to Paws for Life, in care of Davis Funeral Home, 2203 W. Main St., Riverton, WY 82501.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton.
