Ronald D. 'Roscoe' Knuth

Ronald D. "Roscoe" Knuth, of Riverton, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. He was 61 years old.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at the BPOE Riverton Elks Lodge 1693, 207 E. Main St., Riverton.

Ronald David Knuth was born Dec. 2, 1951, in Gaylord, Mich., the son of Douglas and Maxine (Woodard) Knuth. He grew up in Michigan and graduated from high school in Grayling, Mich., in 1971.

He moved to Glendive, Mont., to work in the oilfield for two years. He married Darla Deuel on Dec. 19, 1981, in Glendive, Mont.

They moved to Riverton in 1984, where he was employed by IBA Drilling Company. He then worked at the Valley View Bowling Center and was grounds supervisor at the Fremont County Fairgrounds from 1998 to 2007. He began his employment with Stallion Oil Field Services in 2007.

He was a member of the BPOE Riverton Elks Lodge 1693, where he was a Past Exalted Ruler, Past District Deputy and Past State President, and was a member of the Riverton Country Club.

His family said he enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, being involved in the Elks organization, visiting with his children, family and many friends. He was an avid NASCAR fan, and was also a football fan, his favorite team being the Detroit Lions.

He is survived by his wife, Darla of Riverton; son Ronald Knuth Jr. and his wife Heather and their children Cole and Sadies; son Jeff Knuth and his wife Vickie and their children Randy, Erin, Erica and Chris, all of Crawfordsville, Ind.; sisters Phyllis Morlitz and her husband Tony of Virginia, Linda Pelton and her husband George of Grayling, Mich., and Kathy McGuire and her husband Bruce; sisters-in-law Sandy Thomas and her husband Fred of Lusk, Michelle Murphy of Grand Junction, Colo., and Polly Erlewine and her husband Sam of Lusk; father-in-law Darrell Deuel of Lusk; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law, Mary Deuel.
