Alma Grace Spruell

Alma Grace Spruell, formerly of Riverton, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012. She was 84 years old.

At her request, cremation has taken place, and her remains have been returned to Riverton. A memorial will take place at a later date.

Alma Grace Spruell was born Nov. 25, 1927, in Basin, the daughter of John Thomas and Alma Nicholson Davidson. Her mother died when she was 6 weeks old. She was then raised by her aunt Ruby Mary Nicholson in Greybull at the Al Blackstone Ranch.

She married Doyle Spruell on July 10, 1971, in Utah. The couple made their home in Illinois for a short time before moving to Riverton. They later returned to Illinois to care for Mr. Spruell's mother.

Her family said she never lost her love for Wyoming and her happiest times were spent working on crossword puzzles and being with family at picnics, barbecues, reunions and hunting trips. They said she was a talented artist, seamstress, quilter, homemaker and cook. They said she was proud of her family.

She is survived by her husband, Doyle of Albion, Ill.; son James Gerald "Gary" Crichton and his wife Sharon of Riverton; daughter Cheryl Renee Ricard and her husband Lee Roy of Owensville, Ind.; grandsons Gerald Robert Crichton and David James Crichton and his wife Miranda "Randy"; great-grandchildren Lane Cole Crichton, Grayce Marie Crichton, Emma Elaine Crichton and McKenzie Joe Crandall, all of Riverton; stepgranddaughter Crystal Ricard of Illinois; sister Mary Feyhl of Cody; sisters-in-law Hope Lindgren and Dot Ewart of Meeteetse; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Janice Ann; and five brothers.

The family requests that all memorial donations be made to The National Kidney Foundation.
