Two newcomers, one incumbent elected to school district 24 board

Two newcomers and an incumbent were elected Tuesday to the Fremont County School District 24 Board of Trustees in Shoshoni.
Emily Jarvis garnered 355 votes cast, or 19.11 percent of the total, according to unofficial results from the Fremont County Clerk's Office with all precincts reporting and absentee ballots counted.
Trustee Kelly Gardner followed with 336 votes (18.08 percent), and Wedge Fike secured the third seat after collecting 272 votes (14.64 percent).
Garry Smith came in a close fourth with a reported 265 votes (14.26 percent).
Other race results were incumbent Teffany Fegler with 235 votes (12.65 percent), Becky Zent with 187 votes (10.06 percent), incumbent Tracy Spence with 101 votes (5.44 percent) and Monica Gabriel with 98 votes (5.27 percent).
There were nine write-ins.
Gardner, Jarvis and Fike will join Shoshoni school trustees Curt Lutz, Shawn Steffen, Sean Walker and Kevin Smith.
According to the unofficial results, all three District 2 trustees in Dubois were re-elected to another four-year term.
Peggy Miller collected 701 votes (29.36) of the total votes cast in the race. Brad Lindsey followed with 639 votes (26.76 percent). Heidi McStay rounded out the winners with 581 votes (24.33 percent).
Newcomer Bill Lonn came in fourth place with 444 votes (18.59 percent).
According to the report, there were 23 write-ins.
The three will rejoin fellow board members Karen Chandler, Eileen Grove, Steve Banks and Dave Stinson.
