Manhunt starts in abduction case

Oct 10, 2012 The Associated Press

CODY -- Authorities are asking the public for help in the search for a man wanted in the abduction and sexual assault of a Cody girl.

The Cody Police Department reports the man enticed the 11-year-old girl into his SUV on Monday afternoon by claiming he needed help finding a missing puppy. The man threatened the girl with a pistol, sexually assaulted her, and left her outside the town.

Authorities say the suspect is a white man, between 55 and 60 and weighing 185 to 200 pounds. He has short blond or white hair and a trimmed moustache or beard.

The white SUV had two gray leather seats in front and a mattress in back. It had a black and red backpack and a package of bottled water on a roof rack.
