I think the mayor of Riverton is right when he says if we want to fix all the potholes, curbs, crummy gutters and the like around town, then we will have to pay for it ourselves.
As for the city councilman who said "only an idiot would vote himself a tax increase," I would counter that by saying only an idiot would argue against a very affordable, temporary tax that would solve so many problems.
Road repairs and upkeep are something government needs to be doing, and this is coming from a conservative.
Are we just supposed to go back to dirt roads? Even they need to be maintained, by the way.
