A son was born to Codi Thayer-Jones, of Riverton, at 10:52 p.m. June 12, 2012, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. He weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces.
A daughter was born to Kayla and Chip Thompson, of Shoshoni, at 1:37 p.m. Aug. 2, 2012, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. She weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces.
Robert H. "Bob" Beal, 68, formerly of Lander, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, after a battle with cancer. A celebration of life will be at a later date.
Chelsea Friday, 22, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2012. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at Blue Sky Hall with the Catholic clergy officiating. An evening service will be 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Rawlin Friday residence in Ethete. A rosary will be 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at Blue Sky Hall with a wake to follow at the Blanche Ridgley residence. Interment will be in the Yellowcalf Cemetery.
Good Sam's Roundup and Meeting is 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Archer's Buffet and Grill, 400 N. Federal Blvd., Riverton. Meeting attendees will discuss the upcoming trip and campout at Gros Ventre Campground and trip to Jackson Hole, as well as any future plans. Visitors welcome. Sept. 11 Parade will meet at 9 a.m. at the Kmart parking lot, 1960 N. Federal Blvd., Riverton. Parade route will go south on North Federal Boulevard then west on Main Street toward Central Wyoming College.
Fremont County School District 25 Board Meeting is at 7 p.m. at the Administration Office, 121 N. Fifth St. West, Riverton.
In Fremont County Sheriff's Office reports Thursday to Friday morning:
- Britt Britain, 49, of Riverton, was arrested for driving under the influence.
- Kelsey Garcia, 28, of Lander, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.
- Deputies responded at about 6:10 p.m. Thursday to a vehicle-vs.-bus accident at Fifth and California streets in Shoshoni. According to reports, the accident involved a bus belonging to Fremont County School District 6 (Wind River), which was in Shoshoni dropping off students for a sporting event. Fremont County Sheriff's Captain Ryan Lee said 45 students were in the bus when it turned right onto California Street and struck the front driver's side corner of an unattended Chevy Suburban that was parked at the intersection with Fifth Street. The driver of the bus reported that two young children had "darted out in front of the bus," necessitating that he turn his vehicle more sharply than anticipated. Officials estimated that more than $1,000 in damage was done to the Suburban, while the school bus sustained minor scratches.
In Riverton Police Department reports Thursday to Friday morning:
- Lloyd Oldman, 32, of Riverton, was arrested on a Fremont County warrant and for possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) at about 11:45 p.m. Thursday in the 900 block of West Main Street.
