Carol M. Scott, 71, formerly of Lander, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at her residence in McAllen, Texas. Private memorial services will be at a later date in McAllen, Texas, and Colorado Springs, Colo. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan, Texas.

CanTeen Cupcake Wars is at the Lander Library, 200 Amoretti St., Lander.

Wyoming Wilderness Association Outing is to the top of Bonneville Pass. Seasoned hiker and WWA employee Sara Domek along with a special guest will lead this 6-mile day hike to the top of Bonneville Pass. From atop the pass, hikers can expect to see the early autumn colors amid the volcanic cliffs and meadows within DuNoir recommended wilderness area. This opportunity is free and open to the public. Annual Fly-in and Car Show is 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hunt Field Airport, Lander. The event is free and includes a pancake breakfast, experimental planes and a collection of antique and muscle cars. Don Nelson, of Nelson Aero Service Air Shows, will do an air show at 10 a.m. and noon. The model jet demo is at 10:30 a.m. Spot Landing and Flour Bombing contests start at 11 a.m. The Main Street parade is at 1 p.m.

CWC Student Nurses Association 5K Walk/Run is at 8 a.m. at the Intertribal Center at Central Wyoming College. Registration begins at 8 a.m. the day of the race and is $20, which includes a T-shirt for the first 100 participants. Race begins at 9 a.m.

Lander Community Shred Day is 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the First Interstate Bank parking lot, 8118 Wyoming 789, Lander. Area residents can safely dispose of sensitive documents and better protect themselves against identity theft. Up to five boxes of documents will be allowed for a flat rate charge of $35.

Dubois Friends of the Library Book Fair is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dubois Library, 202 N. First St. For more information, call 455-2992.

Festival of the Cowboys is 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Big Wind Hall, 33 Old Yellowstone Hwy., Crowheart. The free event includes arts and crafts, cowboy music and poetry, ranch rodeo, Dutch oven cook-off, chicken drop contest, horseshoe pitching, children's activities and cowboy chow. "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time" is at 1 p.m. at the Lander Library, 200 Amoretti St., Lander. Donations are $10 for adults, $5 for students.

Bruce Knell and Eight Second Ride Concert is at 7 p.m. at Lander Valley High School auditorium, 350 Baldwin Creek Road, Lander. Tickets are $20 and are available at the Lander Chamber of Commerce, 160 N. First St., Lander. Ticket is good for the backstage VIP after party at The Forge. In Fremont County Sheriff's Office reports Wednesday to Thursday morning:

- Jason Boykin, 35, of Casper, was arrested for simple assault.

In Riverton Police Department reports Wednesday to Thursday morning:

- Doug Bigmedicine, 34, of St. Stephens, was arrested for littering and open container at about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday on North Broadway Avenue near the Rails-to-Trails pathway. With him was Clarence Tyler, 39, of Riverton, who also was arrested for littering.

- Marty Justin Moore, 31, of Riverton, was arrested for simple assault at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of North Second Street West. According to initial reports, officers were responding to a domestic violence call.

- Charles Dodge, 31, of Great Plains, was arrested on two warrants at about 9:50 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of North Federal Boulevard.

- Franklin Asmundson, 22, of Riverton, was arrested for driving under the influence and possession after midnight Thursday. With him was James Logan, 36, of Arapahoe, who was arrested on a warrant.
