Victoria Lee 'Vicky' Ellison

Victoria Lee "Vicky" Ellison died Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, in Salt Lake City. She was 61 years old.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at the Senior Center in Shoshoni with Pastor Doug Hill of the Pavillion Community Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Lakeview Cemetery in Shoshoni. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at Davis Funeral Home.

She was born Aug. 6, 1951, in Riverton, the daughter of Frank Lee and Evelyn Virginia (Huffard) Ellison.

She graduated from Shoshoni High School in 1969, and she devoted her entire life to law enforcement. At 19, she began working for the Riverton Police Department, where she worked for the next six years. She worked for the Fremont County Sheriff's Office for 21 years and the Fremont County Court and the Sheridan District Attorney's office. She also worked for the city attorney and served as city judge in Shoshoni.

Her family said she enjoyed sewing, especially costumes for her grandchildren, crocheting, knitting, reading, solving suduko puzzles and tending to her flowers and garden.

Survivors include her daughter, Shawna Hastings; her husband, Larry McCurry of Shoshoni; brothers Farrell Ellison and his wife Peggy of Gilbert, Ariz., and Thale F. Ellison and his wife Kathi of Riverton; sisters Hollace M. Janson and her husband Keith of Shoshoni and Cheryl M. Frisbee and her husband Randy of Riverton; three grandchildren, Virginia, Jessica and Larry.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials donations be made to Help for Health Hospice in care of Davis Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton.
