Aug 29, 2012 - StaffDiedra "Didi" Louise Walker died Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. She was the daughter of John and Sandra Walker of Lander. She was 52 years old.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at the home of Lisa Dawson, 301 Wind River View Road.
Mrs. Walker came to Lander in 1994 and worked as a veterinary technician at the Lander Valley Animal Hospital. She also worked as a part-time clerk at the Lander ALCO.
Her family said she had a lifelong love for music. She played piano and clarinet and enjoyed performing as a member of the Fremont County Orchestra, She was also a classical singer and performed for three seasons with the Billings, Mont., Opera.
They said she enjoyed handcraft work, especially beading, and she was a talented seamstress.
She is survived by her parents, John and Sandra of Lander; brothers Kiell Walker of Leavenworth, Kan., and John C. Walker of Arlington, Va.
A memorial fund to benefit projects of P.E.O. Chapter Q has been set up at ACFCU.
