Scout letters brought back nice memoryFeb 21, 2012 Dave Shane Riverton
I am getting a real kick out of reading the letters from the Eagle Scout candidates. It brings to mind the huge effort my cousin, who was practically a brother to me, made when he was about 12 years old trying to earn the required badges and so forth to become and Eagle.
It was a family-wide project, and we all followed his progress very closely at every step of the way. My cousin made it, and we had a huge party for him with cake and ice cream like it was his birthday. He is now deceased, I am sorry to say, but these letters brought back some very nice memories.
I say good luck to the "young Eagles." I hope you all make it.
