Aug 19, 2012 - StaffLouise "Gigetta" Marie Ellerby, formerly of Lander, died Friday, July 20, 2012, while surrounded by loved ones after battling cancer for several years.
She was 79 years old.
Private services will be at a later date.
Mrs. Ellerby graduated from Fremont County Vocational High School in Lander with the class of 1950.
She worked for the county welfare office and later as a receptionist for an ophthalmologist while supporting the hectic careers of her husband, Richard, who was a geologist and elementary educator.
They moved to Fort Collins, Colo., in 1973, where they remained and raised their children.
Her family said she enjoyed tending to her grandchildren, gardening, cooking and traveling the world with her husband.
The Ellerbys traveled to China and Europe, but her favorite trips were cruises, especially in the Mediterranean.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Ellerby; daughter Deborah and her husband, Rod Campos; sons Rick and his wife, Karen Ellerby, and Kevin and his wife, Brandie Ellerby; grandchildren Taylor Campos, Tyson and wife Jill Barela, Cody and wife Sarah April Barela, Kara Ellerby, Ryan Ellerby, Kyle and wife Shelly Mock Ellerby, Kameron Ellerby and Charlie Ellerby; and great-grandchildren Paige Barela, Jake Barela and Gavin Ellerby.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pathways Hospice Care at McKee Medical Center, in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins, CO 80526.
