Jul 28, 2017 - Photo by Steve PeckThe Wyoming Highway Patrol responded at about 3 p.m. Wednesday to reports that a motorcycle and tractor-trailer combination had collided near the Wind River Casino south of Riverton. Officials said the 25-year-old man driving the motorcycle had pulled out from the casino and had started heading north in the center lane of the highway. Reports state he then moved from the center lane into the path of the northbound tractor-trailer, causing the crash. He was treated for minor injuries at the scene and was cited for unsafe lane change and no mirror. Troopers on scene said his helmet was "significantly damaged" but saved him from serious head injuries. As standard practice, the tractor-trailer driver underwent a commercial vehicle inspection that yielded no violations.
