Ft. Washakie man gets 12 years for rape

Jul 16, 2017 - From staff reports

Harold Duane Friday of Fort Washakie was sentenced this week to 12 years imprisonment after pleading guilty to three counts of abusive sexual contact.

The 20-year-old's sentence is set be followed by 15 years of supervised probation, and he was also ordered to pay a $300 special assessment and about $950 in restitution.

Friday was arrested in February and charged with six separate instances of aggravated sexual abuse of a child after he allegedly, in multiple instances, fondled girls under the age of 12 in 2016.

Friday was first investigated after a student at Fort Washakie Elementary school told a school resource officer that Friday had "bad-touched" her.

The case was investigated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
