Peranteaux and Manning file for school board re-election

Fremont County School District 25 trustee Dean Peranteaux was the first to submit an application for one of four positions on the Riverton school board appearing on the Nov. 6 general election ballot.
Peranteaux was one of eight candidates to file Wednesday, which was the opening day of the filing period for various seats on school boards, the Central Wyoming College board and fire, conservation and cemetery districts. Candidates in those races have until Aug. 27 to submit their application to the Fremont County Clerk's Office.
Incumbent District 25 board member Carl Manning filed for re-election Thursday morning.
As of noon on Thursday, the number of candidates to submit their applications increased by one, with Lower Wind Riverton Conservation District rural supervisor Rod Rivers filing for another term. There are two seats on the district board up in this year's general election.
School District 38 trustee John Goggles also filed for re-election on Wednesday. His seat on the Arapahoe board is one of three appearing on the November ballot.
Another incumbent who filed is Kristin Benson for School District 6. There are four seats on the Wind River board with expiring terms this year.
Two candidates filed for the three open seats on School District 14 Board of Education. They are Clarina Thunder and incumbent Belle Ferris.
Teffany Fegler submitted her application for re-election to the School District 24 board in Shoshoni. There are three seats on the board up this year.
Lander resident Stephanie Kessler filed for the Fremont County Commission District 4 position. Kessler, who is running as an independent, is set to face incumbent Pat Hickerson, a Lander Republican, in the general election.
Glen Steers of Lander is running for re-election as director of the Fremont County Fire District. The position is the only seat with an expiring term this year.
Ron Wilmes is seeking another term as director of the Jeffrey City Fire District. There are two four-year positions and a two-year position with expiring terms this year.
Timothy Wilson submitted an application for re-election as at-large supervisor of the Popo Agie Conservation District. There are two seats on the conservation district board that are up this year.
Several races have yet to see a candidate file.
There are three seats on the School District 1 board in Lander up this election. Three positions each on the School District 2's board in Dubois and School District 21's board in Fort Washakie will be on the November ballot.
Four CWC trustee seats are also up this year, as well as several positions on fire protection, conservation and cemetery districts.
