Local school counselors on state board

Jul 7, 2017 - From staff reports

Two Fremont County public school counselors have positions on the governing board of the Wyoming School Counselor Association leadership board.

Riverton High School counselor Amy Mason takes over as board president-elect-elect, beginning her four-year term on the WySCA board.

In her third and fourth years of service, Mason will represent Wyoming school counselors at the national conference as a voting delegate for the American School Counselor Association.

Stacey Polson, Lander Middle School counselor and Wyoming's 2017 School Counselor of the Year, will be the middle school representative to the board.

She will coordinate with middle school counselors across the state on behalf of WySCA.

Both positions became effective on July 1.

The two counselors were elected to the board at the recent Wyoming School Counselor Association conference in Casper.
