Reynold 'Rastus' Scott Hereford

Rastus Hereford passed away Monday, June 26, 2017. He was 46 years old.

He was born Dec. 10, 1970, in Lander, the son of the late Sherman Jackie and Beverly Hereford.

He was a lifelong resident of the Wind River Indian Reservation.He was a laborer. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, anything outdoors and the casino. He enjoyed being around his family and friends. He made friends everywhere he went.

He is survived by sistersTia Thayer Enos, Coose and Irene "Fa Fa" Hereford, Dallas Coando, Ruby and Bernita Bell, Andrea Whiteman, Deanna Romero, Catilynn and Nichole Menard and Roberta Shakespeare; brothers Robert, Dale, Russell Jr., Theodore, T J , Alton, Curtis, John and VictorHereford and Verlin and Vernon Rooks; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Amanda Violet Hereford; sisters Jacqueline Rae and Amanda Hereford; father, Sherman Jackie Hereford; mother, Beverly Warren Hereford; grandparents Sherman Hereford Sr., Hazel Lajeunesse Hereford, William Warren Sr. and Ellie Vanderbilt Warren;uncles Robert "Herf", Willis "Duke", Stanley and Victor Hereford, Seeright, Cornelius, Billy and Alfred Warren and Russell Thayer Sr.; aunts Charlotte Waterman, Emmajean Bell, Elabie Hereford, Marcella and Violet Louise Thompson, Violet Warren, Joan Nowlin and Barbra Thayer; and cousins Patricia Thompson, Hazel Niedo-Rooks and Chandler Shakespeare.

An evening service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 29, with a wake to follow at the family residence, 22 Hereford Lane, Fort Washakie.

Traditional Indian funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 30, at the family residence, 22 Hereford Lane, Fort Washakie, with Butch Devinny officiating. Interment will be in the Chief Washakie Cemetery at Fort Washakie.
