Jun 22, 2017 - From staff reportsWyoming Public Media has launched its newest podcast, "Spoken Words," expanding the station's podcast portfolio to four.
"Spoken Words"features authors writing from or about the Mountain West, reading from their works and discussing wide-ranging topics: from their careers and the writing process to broader questions about the nature of identity and the West.
"'Spoken Words' is part of WPM's initiative to focus on Wyoming programming in the state and beyond," said Wyoming Public Media general manager Christina Kuzmych.
The first two episodes of the podcast, featuring Wyoming writer Nina McConigley and Irish playwright and novelist Sebastian Barry, went live June 13 and is followed by a new episode every two weeks.
The show can be streamed at wyomingpublicmedia.organd downloaded from podcast distribution platforms including Apple Podcastsand Google Play Music. A preview episode was released earlier this week.
Spoken Wordsis produced in collaboration with the University of Wyoming's MFA in Creative Writing Program. Students from the program find and interview authors for the podcast, draft scripts and produce the final episodes.
