Jun 8, 2017 - From staff reportsScott Martin of Bailey Enterprises, Inc. has been chosen as the 2017 Mechanic of the Year by the Wyoming Trucking Association, Inc. The award was presented in ceremonies on May 19 during the 78th annual convention in Casper.
The Mechanic of the Year award recognizes deserving mechanics for superior work on vehicle maintainence. Nominees are evaluated on the basis of equipment responsibilities, safety, equipment downtime, community involvment, and special accomplishments. The winner receives a plaque and gift certificate for the purchase of tools from the Wyoming Trucking Association Council of Safety Supervisors Maintainence Council.
Martin began his career with Bailey Tire and Auto Service in 1979. For the past thirty-eight years, Scott has been working on cars, pick-ups, semi-trucks, trailers of all sizes, backhoes, loaders, graders, and chippers.
Martin is ASE certified in several different areas, has air brake training, is transmission and cluth certified, and also has AC certification. Martin can often be found in the shop teaching and/or mentoring numerous Bailey Tire and Auto employees.
