Frank L. Hughes Sr. of Riverton died Feb. 4, 2017, at his home with his wife by his side. He was 75.

A celebration of his life will be at noon June 3, 2017, at Hot Springs State Park in Thermopolis.

Frank Lee Hughes was born June 19, 1941, in a coal camp in Gebo, to Harold and Lillian (Morgareidge) Hughes.

His survivors include his wife, Rosie Hughes of Riverton; children Frank Hughes Jr. of Lorton, Virginia, Rhonda Leonard and husband, Jay, of Lakewood, Washington, and Rachel Hughes and husband, Brad Becerra, of Thermopolis; step-children Christopher Pruitt of Nevada, Missouri, and Aaron L. Pruitt and wife, Ilene, of Riverton; brothers John Hughes and wife, Kathy, of Albion, California, Jim Hughes and wife, Carol, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Jerry Hughes and wife, Bonnie, of Las Vegas; sister, Ruby Green of Worland; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lillian Hughes; and sisters Fae Hughes Benedict and Irene Hughes McVay.

He enjoyed fishing in the Beartooth Mountains, demolition derbies, four wheeling, old car restorations and his gold claim "'tain't easy" with his friends and wife. He also enjoyed having coffee and sharing stories with his friends. His family said he had a sense of humor and shared many stories with folks who listened.

He worked in the oilfields of Wyoming - rigging, drilling and consulting. He also drove truck, hauling cars and working for Havens Trucking in New Mexico and team driving with his wife for Schneider Trucking. He witnessed the terrorist attack of Sept. 11, 2001.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home.
