May 18, 2017 - From staff reportsJack's Truck and Equipment will be the provider of the Riverton Regional Airport's new $244,500 plow truck. The bid award was approved by the Riverton City Council contingent upon the Wyoming Department of Transportation's pending task to review the bid proposal positively.
WYDOT will cover 90 percent of the cost, or roughly $220,000 while the city will cover nearly $25,000.
The city was required to update their snow removal fleet to provide "safe runway services for those who utilize the airfield" and because the airport operates under a Part 139 license with the Federal Aviation Administration.
The airport now uses two plow trucks and one rotary blower. The new truck is replacing a truck that was acquired in 1980 by the city. The airport needed approval from the city council to apply for a WYDOT grant for the purchase.
