Apr 20, 2017 - By Daniel Bendtsen, Staff WriterThe parent company of Guardian EMS, which operates ambulance services in Fremont County, was sold this week to Air Medical Group Holdings.
Hoping to save on costs, Fremont County leased its ambulance services to Guardian for a term of 5 years.
County Commissioner Larry Allen, who serves as the ambulance liaison on the county board, said that he's been informed by Guardian's regional director, Matt Strauss, that the sale should have no impact on Guardian's operations in the county.
The sale follows a trend of consolidation in the ambulance industry and Air Medical Group Holdings has now become the largest ambulance company in the world.
