A strong, local health-care system is the backbone of any healthy, thriving community.
Access to high-quality care gives people the freedom and peace of mind to pursue their goals, provide for their families, and give back to their communities.
A commitment to making communities healthier and keeping care local is why I started working in health care nearly 30 years ago, and it's why I'm honored to have been named CEO of SageWest Health Care.
Before coming to Wyoming, I served as CEO of two hospitals in east Texas - Parkview Regional Hospital and Ennis Regional Medical Center.
I also served for five years as CEO of Mercy Regional Medical Center in Louisiana, in addition to other leadership roles at various LifePoint facilities.
My wife Tanya and I have always made community involvement a priority, and we look forward to meeting our new neighbors in Riverton and Lander, as well as across all of Fremont County.
I hope if you see us at the grocery store, at church, or out and about you will say hello and introduce yourself, and we will do the same.
My top priority has always been people - the patients, physicians, employees, trustees and community members who make a hospital such a special place. The same mission that drew me into health care so many years ago is why I continue to wake up each day energized and focused on the work ahead.
As I enter this role, I am well aware of the challenges SageWest has recently faced. While the changes in today's healthcare industry are very real, I am proud to be part of this healthcare system working to ensure every patient receives the safest and most compassionate care possible.
I am no stranger to challenges. I know that together, we can guide our system forward, build on our progress and fulfill our vision for the future.
And this vision is simple, but bold: to reestablish SageWest as a local healthcare system that delivers excellent care, a superior patient experience, and is the first choice for healthcare professionals in our region.
I am confident that we can not only achieve, but exceed this vision. It will take all of us to get there, including our dedicated physicians and employees, and our community's support.
I can't tell you how welcome Tanya and I have felt since we moved here. We look forward to meeting each and every one of you, and making our community healthier together.
