Apr 16, 2017 - From staff reportsAllen Collins, father of Cheryl Forget of Riverton, died Thursday, April 13, 2017. He was 86 years old.
Viewing is from 1-5 p.m. Monday, April 17, at Wiedersphan Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes in Cheyenne.
Funeral services are at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, also at that location.
Allen Collins was born Feb. 24, 1931, in Winchester, Indiana. His family moved to California in 1937.
He attended Burbank High School, where he met his wife, Maxine Kensinger.
They wed in 1951 and were married for 49 years. They had four children, Jeff (Kay), Andy (Teresa), Cheryl Forget (Mike), Patricia Haraldson (Mike).
Mr. Collins served four years in the United States Navy during the Korean war. He worked 31 years for Mountain Bell.
Loved ones remember him as "a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend."
After his first wife's death, he married Rita Custer in 2002. She has two children, Joe Hesketh (Shannon) and Ricki Thompson (Charles).
Allen Collins also is survived by 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren "who loved him tremendously," family members said.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Wendell Collins; his first wife, Maxine Collins; and a granddaughter, Mary Anne Collins.
