Like it or not, Trump is the president and needs support

Mar 17, 2017 - Gloria Gregory, Riverton

Do you hear that ripping sound? It's the sound of the politicians tearing into the fabric of America.

All the political in@257;ghting, name calling, lies and all the other muckraking going on in our capital is shameful. Not only is it shameful, but it could be dangerous to the security of the United States.

How can you expect the President to be effective and produce results, when members of Congress cannot get off their butts and put his cabinet into place?

I truly feel it is time that everyone (especially in Washington) realizes we do not elect Democrats or Republicans to Congress; we do not elect black or white senators or congressmen; we do not elect liberals or conservatives to represent the American people.

We elect UNITED STATES SENATORS and UNITED STATES REPRESENTATIVES to work for the good of the country.

It's time for these congressmen to pay attention to the American people and not the likes of Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi or George Soros; and don't forget the petulant Republicans like McCain and Graham who want it their way or the highway.

In November, the American people spoke loud and clear and elected Donald Trump to be the President of the United States. Yes, even if you may not like it, he is our president, and you need to realize that all the attempts to marginalize him while he is working for the betterment of the United States can only hurt us as a country.

Yes, you can be the "loyal opposition," but to take it to the extremes of just doing it to forward your own agenda is not the right thing to do.

The paid thugs with their black masks that riot, loot and commit mayhem in the names of their liberal gods need to be stopped. Yes, dissent is not a

crime, but lawlessness is.

We are tired of giving everything we work so hard for away, the idea that any and all who want to feed at the trough of the United States is welcome to freeload has to be stopped. Before we take on the woes of the world, we need to take care of our veterans and other Americans who need a helping hand, not a free ride for life.

We are a nation of laws. Laws are mandatory and are not meant to be obeyed by some and ignored by others because they don't approve.

It is essential that everyone obeys all the laws of the land. Things like unvetted refugees, criminal illegal aliens and sanctuary cities need to be taken care of immediately.
