Rachelle Kelli Wesaw passed away Feb. 23, 2017, in Casper. She was 30 years old.

Wake services were Monday, Feb. 27, 2017, at the Rocky Mountain Hall in Fort Washakie. Traditional funeral services were Tuesday morning, Feb. 28, 2017, also at Rocky Mountain Hall.

Burial will be at the Sacajawea Cemetery.

She was born Feb. 11, 1987, to Elise and Glenn Wesaw Sr. of Sand Hills, Wyoming. She resided on the Wind River Indian Reservation, where she spent the majority of her life. She attended Flandreau Indian School for most of her high school years before graduating from Chemawa Indian School in Salem, Oregon.

During her childhood, she was often outdoors fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, and having cookouts with her family. She studied psychology at Central Wyoming College for a brief period of time before she decided to work for the State Training School as a caregiver. She spent the majority of her time caring for her only son, Redsun St. John.

Her hobbies included listening to music, watching Medea movies and hanging out at the casinos with friends and family.

Her favorite holiday was Christmas. She loved star-gazing, beading, cooking, shopping, and experimenting with hair and nails.

"She always had her nose submerged in an Archie comic book," her loved ones said.

She is survived by her son, Redsun St. John; father, Glenn Wesaw Sr.; brothers Glenn Wesaw Jr., Manual Wesaw and family, and Shane Wesaw and family; sisters Shanna Wesaw, Lisa Wesaw and family of California and Kyah Armajo (best friend); aunts Irvina Histia, Lorena Four Souls, Colleen Anderson, Phoebe Wilson, Ramona Compton and family of Casper, Adrissa Underwood and family, Rubena Tillman and family, Alice Posey and family, Carolyn Shoyo, Bonnie Ainsworth and Tanna Dickens; uncles Mark Wesaw and Preston Ute; grandmothers Angeletta Shoyo and Joyce Posey; cousins Lindsey Ute and family of Oregon, Sydney Wilson, Randell Wilson III and family, Nicole Anderson, Terrence Anderson and family, Emery Ute-Tindall and family, Justin Ute-Tindall, Aaron Ute-Tindall, Danielle Ute-Tindall, Nathaniel Sorrels of Arizona, Daphne Compton and Delwayne Compton Jr. of Arizona; and other relatives including Carmen Thomas, Josh Ute, Lacy Hurtado and family, the Wesaw family, the Ute family, the Moon Family, the Timbana family, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Elise Kim Wesaw; maternal grandparents, Elias and Iona Ute; paternal grandmother, Abe and Edna Wesaw; maternal great-grandparents, Helmer Ute and Emma Ann Panzetenga-Ute, Nettie Timbana and William Tarness; paternal great-grandparents, Eddie and Tibney Wesaw; uncles Forrest Dean Ute and Able Wesaw; aunt, Josephine Wesaw; and other relatives including Newman Ute, Shannon Hurtado, Joshua Hurtado, Gary Moon Sr., Leona Moon, Kerry Moon, Chris Moon, Nathaniel Moon, Delmer Wesaw Sr. and Tony and Del Mona Benally.
