Feb 26, 2017 - From staff reportsEdward W. (Eddie) Mudge Jr. of Thermopolis died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017. He was 85 years old.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at the Chapel of Mount Hope, Hudson's Funeral Home in Lander. The funeral service begins at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, also at Hudson's Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Lander.
Edward W. Mudge Jr. was born Nov. 15, 1931, in Lander, to Edward W. Mudge and Edna Thoren Mudge. He lived in central Wyoming most of his life.
Ranch life filled his early years, followed by living in Themopolis and other Wyoming towns.
"For those who knew Eddie throughout his life, he was known to be one of the few people of whom it can be said he never met a person who didn't like him," loved ones recalled.
"Eddie continually had a keen sense of justice and the right thing to do.Within his ability, he never failed to exemplify that trait. He was ready to go fishing or talk about airplanes at any opportunity. Themopolis Health Care, where he was much loved, was his residence for his final years."
Mr. Mudge is survived by his sister, Kay (Mark) Landerdahl, of Peoria, Illinois; his cousins Bill (Francis) Thoren and Don (Kathleen) Thoren; and many nieces and nephews and their children.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, Robert; and his niece, Lisa Knigge.
