The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality and the Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission will host a Pavillion working group meeting in Casper on Tuesday, July 24.
The meeting will provide updates and discussion regarding the investigation of mud and production pits, well bore integrity and the deep monitoring well sampling events in the Pavillion area.
The meeting involves concerns about groundwater contamination experienced by some residents in an area several miles east of Pavillion where Encana Corp. operates an energy field.
In addition, a brief update will be made about the cistern systems for the Pavillion East Water Supply Project.
The meeting begins at 1 p.m. at the Oil and Gas Conservation Commission hearing room at 2211 King Blvd. in Casper.
The public is encouraged to attend and will be given an opportunity to comment.
Japanese class planned
Anyone interested in learning the Japanese language can do so from home this fall by enrolling in a Central Wyoming College class.
Students with an Internet-connected computer equipped with a webcam and microphone can interact with veteran Japanese instructor Court Merrigan in real time.
The course is Mondays from 6:30 to 9:20 p.m. High school students are welcome to enroll.
