A Kansas man involved in a motorcycle crash in Fremont County earlier this month has died, according to a statement issued by the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
The agency reported Dillon W. Greninger, 31, of Riverton, Kan., was pronounced dead at 6:15 a.m. July 12 at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper.
The crash occurred at 5:10 p.m. on July 3 about 14 miles east of Shoshoni. The second person involved in the crash was passenger Jennifer B. Greninger, 30, also of Riverton, Kan.
Dillon Greninger reportedly was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 20/26 on a 2008 Harley-Davidson when a deer ran across the roadway into the path of his motorcycle.
"(Dillon) Greninger was unable to avoid a collision with the deer, striking it, which caused him to lose control of his motorcycle," the Highway Patrol release stated.
"Both driver and passenger were totally ejected."
Dillon Greninger was transported from the scene by a Life Flight helicopter to Casper. Jennifer Greninger was taken by ambulance to Riverton Memorial Hospital.
The Highway Patrol reported both victims were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
