Riverton's second Minors all-star squad dropped a tight, 4-3 contest in being eliminated from the District 1 tournament.

The Riverton Americans Minors all-stars fell to Big Horn by a score of 4-3 on Friday, thus ending hopes of a berth at the state tournament.

Big Horn jumped out to a 4-1 lead after one, following Riverton's single marker in the top of the frame.

Brodie Dale led off the game with a solid base hit and later stole home to give the visitors a brief advantage, following another single by Carter Noseep.

After Big Horn had posted its four runs, Riverton answered with a pair in the top of the second to make it a 4-3 game.

Jace Lane banged a base hit to begin the inning, followed by a bunt single by Tyler Hernandez to put runners on first and second, before Justin Newberry singled to load the bases.

Dale and Darrick DeVries contributed RBI singles to close the gap to a single run.

However, that would close out the scoring on both sides for the balance of the game, providing Big Horn with the victory.

Dale was the lone Riverton player to have a multi-hit game.
