Former Lander resident Dan Good, 45, of Midvale, Utah, died Thursday, June 21, 2012.

A celebration of his life was Monday, June 25, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lander.

Dan Good was born in Philadelphia, the sixth of seven children. His family moved west to Wyoming when he was 3 years old. He grew up in Lander and graduated from Lander Valley High School in 1983 and later the University of Wyoming and Colorado State University, where he received his doctorate in veterinary medicine.

His family said Dr. Good always loved animals and was the owner of Alcor Cresta Veterinary Hospital in Midvale. They said he enjoyed his new home and garden and was enjoying time spent enlarging his gardens of flowers, vegetables, trees and unusual specimens of flowers.

Dr. Good is survived by his parents, George and Helen Good; his sisters, Helen La Rose an husband Larry, Susan McOmie and husband Del, Dot Stefanich and husband Jeff, Diane Olsen and husband Jeff, and Lisa Radke and husband Matt; his big brother, David Good and wife Karen, and their families including nieces and nephews, Leah, Annie, Mike, Christine, Megan, Becky, Matthew, Brittney, Katie, Nick, Alana, Danielle, Tom, A.J. and Nathan, to whom he was called "Uncle Burp"; great-nieces and nephews Matthew, Cody, Paco, Bronson, Avery and Clay; and his seven "rescue" cats.

A celebration of life was June 29 on the Wheeler Farm in Utah with friendly pets attending on leash.

Memorials may be made in his name to the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lander or to a memorial foundation at Mountain America Credit Union in Salt Lake City in the name of Dr. Dan Good.
