Jun 21, 2012 - StaffFormer Lander resident Gerald F. "Fritz" Campbell, 64, died Sunday, June 12, 2012, at his home in Fresno, Calif.
Cremation has taken place and funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at the chapel of the Wyoming Life Resource Center in Lander. Chaplain Justin Vold officiates.
Gerald Fredrick Campbell was born Feb. 24, 1948, in Rawlins the son of Colin D. Campbell and Jessie (Zimmer) Prickett.
He was a 1966 graduate of Fremont County Vocational High School in Lander, attended Casper Junior College, and later transferred to Fresno City College in California where he graduated with an associate in science degree in general business.
He married Patty Sandau of Fresno in January 1971. They later divorced.
Mr. Campbell owned and operated a ceramic business in Casper with this mother for several years, and then moved the business to Fresno. He later started a landscaping business and owned a limousine service, catering to motion picture and television stars and a variety of music groups, entertainers and dignitaries.
His family said Mr. Campbell enjoyed pets and raised a variety of birds, fish and animals. His favorite was an English setter named Bandito. They said he enjoyed snow and water skiing, roller blading, fishing and catching and cooking fresh rock crab.
Mr. Campbell is survived by his brother, Colin Campbell Jr. and wife Sandra.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Coleen, and his parents.
