Southernman V. Addison, 35, of Araphoe, died Friday, May 25, 2012, at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colo. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Friday, June 1, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Interment follows at the Spoonhunter Cemetery on the Wind River Reservation. Rosary and viewing are at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton. Irene J. Baker, 85, of Pavillion, died Tuesday, May 29, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at the Gorman Funeral Home in Douglas. Interment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery. A reception will follow the services, at the American Legion in Douglas. There will be a viewing from noon until 1 p.m. preceding the service Saturday. Lander native Leslie R. Leclair-Hutsell, 52, died Thursday, May 17, 2012, unexpectedly in Colorado Springs, Colo. A memorial service will be this summer in Lander. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Fremont County Spring Spectacular is at the Fremont County Fairplex, 1010 Fairgrounds Road, Riverton. Shows include market beef, breeding beef, market goats, market lambs and market swine. Showmanship will be June 2; more than $5,500 guaranteed. Campground space is available, there will be concessions, a carnival and youth rodeo. Bedding is also available. Second Annual Dash for Cash 5K Run/Walk is 8:30 a.m. at the Teton Athletic Club, 911 Liberty Drive, Riverton. Participants can register from 7:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. Registration is $15. Prizes will be awarded.
Day of Fishing for Kids is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lucky Pond, Lander. The Elks Lodge No. 2317 will grill hamburgers and hotdogs.
Red Desert Tours, promoted by the Wyoming Association of Churches, is 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and meets at the rest station opposite Oregon Buttes near the Sweetwater River on Highway 28. The itinerary includes the Continental Divide at Oregon Buttes, an overlook of the Great Divide Basin, the Honeycombs, Alkali Rim, Chicken Springs, Steamboat Mountain, the Sand Dunes and the Boar's Tusk. Vehicles should have a high clearance for some of the roads that will be taken. A $5 donation would be appreciated. Advance registration is needed. In Riverton police reports from Wednesday to Thursday morning:
- Reuben Wentz, 33, of Riverton, was arrested for disorderly conduct.
- Amber Smith, 23, of Riverton, was arrested for driving under the influence.
- Capt. Eric Murphy said at 2:56 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to the 800 block of East Main Street concerning a simple assault. Murphy said a male subject advised officers he had had been assaulted by two other males, but was unable to give a description of the attackers or where the assault occurred.
In Fremont County Sheriff's reports from Wednesday to Thursday morning:
- Chato Lyday, 34, of Fort Washakie, was arrested on a warrant arrest for assault and reckless endangerment.
- During the same time period, ambulance crews responded to 12 calls and firefighters were dispatched four times.
