May 31, 2012 - StaffThe Dash for Cash, a 5K run and walk event sponsored by P.E.O. to raise funds for a scholarship at Central Wyoming College, takes place this Saturday, June 2.
Money raised for the event will be given to the Bess Butler scholarship fund at CWC.
She was the mother of Ranger staff writer Carolyn Tyler.
The race will begin and end at Teton Athletic Club, 911 Flag Drive, in Riverton.
Same-day registration for the event is from 7:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. The race begins at 8:30 a.m., according to event organizers.
There is a registration fee of $15.
A cash prize of $25 will be awarded to the winners of each men's and women's under-20 and over-20 division. A $15 second prize also will be awarded in the same divisions, and drawings will be held for additional cash awards and other prizes.
Last year, approximately 50 runners and walkers participated in the event.
Martha Lange is the president of the AP chapter of P.E.O., the event's sponsor.
