David J. Atkinson

Lander native David J. "D.J." Atkinson, 46, of Broomfield, Colo., died Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at the Boulder Community Hospital.

Funeral services were April 27 at Flatirons Community Church in Lafeyette, Colo. Inurnment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Lander, with ashes spread in Colorado.

David John Atkinson was born June 1, 1965, in Lander. He graduated from Lander Valley High School and received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and computers from the University of Wyoming.

Following college graduation, he began work at the U.S. Department of Commerce in Boulder, Colo., and continued there until his death.

He is survived by his father, David K. Atkinson and his stepmother, Joan; his mother, Gayle (Cole) Pardew; half-sister Gaylene Walker and husband Kirby; half-brothers Curtis Syme, Kenneth Syme, Marvin Syme and wife Shery; nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were by Rundus Funeral Home, 1998 W. 10th Ave., Broomfield, CO 80020.
