May 6, 2012 - By Christina George, Staff WriterThis month thousands of students countywide will walk across a stage and be handed a high school diploma or college degree.
Central Wyoming College will kick off the graduation season with the annual pinning of nursing school graduates. The ceremony will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, at the Robert A. Peck Arts Center Theatre.
The college's commencement will be the following evening, May 11, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The graduation, which will also be at the arts center theater, will be broadcast live on the Riverton/Lander cable channel 5.
On Saturday, May 12, Wyoming Catholic College will hold its commencement at the Sinks Canyon Center in Lander, beginning at 10:30 a.m. The public is also invited to a noon luncheon following ceremony.
There will be three graduations on Friday, May 18, beginning with Wind River Tribal College's annual event at 1 p.m. The ceremony will be at the tech center at Wyoming Indian High School in Ethete.
Arapaho Charter High School will have its commencement at 2 p.m. at the old gymnasium at Arapahoe School.
Also on May 18, Pathfinder High School seniors will graduate at 6 p.m. at the school in Lander.
Lander, Shoshoni, Wyoming Indian and St. Stephen's Indian School will have their graduations on Sunday, May 20.
The ceremonies will begin at 2 p.m. at the respective schools with the exception of St. Stephen's, which will have its graduation at 6 p.m.
Fort Washakie Charter High School seniors will graduate on Saturday, May 26. The event will follow the eighth-grade promotion, which is at 1 p.m. at the school.
Dubois, Riverton and Wind River will have ceremonies on Sunday, May 27.
Riverton will begin at 1 p.m., Dubois at 1:30 p.m. and Wind River at 4 p.m.
