Apr 15, 2012 - StaffMemorial services for former Riverton resident William C. "Bill" McBroom, 86, are at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 2, at Evergreen Cemetery in Superior, Neb.
Mr. McBroom died Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
William C. McBroom was born Jan. 7, 1926, in Superior, Neb. He was a graduate of Superior High School and attended Nebraska Wesleyan University and the University of Nebraska.
Mr. McBroom served with the U.S. Naval Air Corps during World War II.
Mr. McBroom lent his tenor voice to many activities and the church. His family said he also enjoyed photography and trains.
On Aug. 21, 1949, he married Connie Steele. Two children were born to this union, Jonathan and Nancy.
Mr. McBroom worked for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation for 39 years, retiring in Riverton where they had lived for 33 years. They moved to Colorado Springs three years ago to be closer to their children.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Connie; a son, Jonathan McBroom and his wife of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Nancy Brunell and husband of Salida, Colo.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
