Apr 10, 2012 - StaffAlbert C. Iron, 74, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Wind River Healthcare in Riverton.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, at St. Stephen's Mission with the Rev. Father Dave Gaffney officiating. Interment will be at the Arapaho Catholic Cemetery at St. Stephen's.
A rosary and wake are at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, at the family residence, No. 733 Blue Sky Highway, Ethete.
Albert Charles Iron was born Dec. 11, 1937, at St. Stephen's the son of Horace and Sara Iron.
His family said he enjoyed fishing, hunting, listening to sundance music and being around his family and friends. In his younger years, he said he was a bareback rider and enjoyed watching John Wayne movies.
For the majority of his life, he cowboyed for the Arapaho Ranch.
Mr. Iron is survived by daughters Albertina Black Wolf and husband Linden, Marlene Gould and Paul Lujan and Kay Gould; sons Roland Iron Sr. and Jolene, Garland Gould Jr., and Jimmy Gould and Yolanda; a sister, Clara Thunder; brother-in-law Dick Antelope; grandchildren Rolanda C'Bearing, Jermemiah and Gabriel Iron, Latasha, Daralynn, Sara and Roland Iron Jr., Albertina Isis, Julia Abeyta, John and Mike Abeyta, Sequoia, Sterling and Shilo Blindman, Katie, Michael and Perry Gould, Belinda, Shawna, Renee, Stacey, Yolanda and Barry Berrera, Christina, Melisa, Tony, Faye, Michael T. and Anthony Gould, Iram, Tony, Floyd, Andrea and Jolene Addison and Linda Lou Little Whiteman; great-grandchildren Trayven Blindman, Shi'ta Daa'Diin and Johnson Roanhorse III, Neveah Norris, Angel C'Bearing, Josiah Hernandez, Anthony, Brittany, Andrew Isis, Amber and Jonathan Knight, Macey Tiger, Haley Martin, Quinntel, Alex, Gabriel, Elizabeth, Ezekeil, Tisianin and Paetin Abeyta; nieces and nephews Irene Crazy Thunder, Lorraine and Catherine Addison, Delores and Shirley Washington, Agnes, Diana Antelope, Lucy Harris, Susie Villa, Grilda Chavez, Gwen Addison, Ramona Bell, Rita and Ethelen Jefferson, Carrie White Antelope, Jenny Shoulderblade, Brenda, Betsy and Tina Brown, Teddy, Ike, Frances and Issac Washington, Joe, John, Mike and Howard Antelope Jr., William, Aaron and Mervin Addison Jr., Ronnie, Melvin and Joseph Oldman Jr., Kevin and Erving Brown.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence A. Iron; parents; brothers Otto, Jimmy and Gabriel Washington, Charles Gambler and Bill Thunder; sisters Martha Addison, Lillian Behan, Bernadette Friday, Leona, Patsy and Martha Washington; son Jerry Gould; daughter Brenda Gould; grandchildren Pauline and Cody Addison; niece Alverna Antelope; aunt Cleon Thunder; mother-in-law Inez Antelope Oldman; brothers-in-law Bobby, Willie and Robert Antelope, Joseph Oldman Sr., and Mervin Addison Sr.; sisters-in-law Myrtle and Betty Mae Antelope and Stella Antelope Addison; nephews Hiram Addison Sr., Albert "Beta," Tommy, Everett, Stanford, George and Davis Addison, Gregory Oldman and Vinny Washington; sundance father Bradford Friday.
