Rams pounded by Pronghorns, 73-20Oct 3, 2017 By Randy Tucker, Staff Writer
It was another long afternoon for the Dubois Rams in Sweetwater County.
Dubois traveled to Farson and fell hard to the unbeaten and second- ranked Pronghorns, 73-20.
The loss is the fifth of the season for the Rams in as many tries.
Farson has a variety of weapons, is poised for a playoff berth and possibly a West conference title if they can get by Little Snake River on the final game of the regular season.
Dubois had solid efforts from Warren Johnson and Connor Hudson offensively, with Johnson scoring twice and adding a conversion kick and Hudson tallying a touchdown, as well.
The duo had the bulk of Dubois 188 yards of total offense.
Johnson gained 84 grueling yards on 20 rushing attempts and added 19 on a pass from Justin Poppe for 103 total.Hudson's running was equally tough against the staunch Pronghorn defense with 66 yards on 15 carries. They were the only Rams with positive rushing yards as Poppe lost six on two carries, Mason Slider a negative three on two carries and Jaryd Well was thrown for a nine-yard loss on his only carry of the game.
Defensively, Matt Codevilla paced the Rams with four unassisted and two assisted tackles with two of those tackles for loss. Johnson and Slider had three solo tackles in the open field and Hudson and Johnson each recovered a Pronghorn fumble.
Farson makes their longest trek of the season to Meeteetse next Friday while Dubois hosts Burlington.
